Winch Out & Recovery

A winch out is needed when a vehicle is stuck in mud or snow. Generally, on a flat surface just needing a pull out and not requiring lifting. In contrast, a vehicle recovery is broader, involving lifting, repositioning, or removing the vehicle from hazardous areas. While winching is part of a recovery, it employs various techniques and tools for safe relocation. A recovery is generally in a ditch, down a hill, on a stone wall or a vehicle that has rolled over. Understanding these distinctions is vital to safely removing the vehicle.
